I also had to download the dxsdk_oct2004_extras.exe, but once i fix one problem another pops up. I would do a search in your compiler's install directory for that file. I have not yet tried the VC++ 2005 Beta, but I've heard from a number of people that it can be a bit flaky about finding libraries, etc.

With that being said, libcp.lib is one of the standard libraries, and the linker should always know where to find it. This is generally fixed by making sure the path to the library is in the libraries path of your compiler. The error you're receiving occurs when the linker cannot find a library which it needs.
